The Bioclere® sewage treatment plant is a system solution based on the technology of biological percolating(trickling) filters. The treatment plant is intended for small and medium-sized villages or residentials in rural areas and public utility facilities such as schools, nursing homes, hotels, etc.
Biological wastewater treatment plants, represented by the BIOCLERE® system, have enjoyed unchanged popularity and recognition for thirty years due to their reliability, energy efficiency and uncomplicated operation. Throughout the world, and especially in Europe and USA, there are over twelve thousand Bioclere® sewage treatment plant. The BIOCLERE® system is most often used in places with a hundred to a thousand inhabitants, housing estates, service premises, schools, hospitals, holiday centers, etc. Correct use guarantees failure-free operation for many years. Another advantage is the simple operation. It can be said that in standard configuration it is the most maintenance-free technology from all offered on the market.
The biological process is preceded by the removal of fat and suspended solids in a primary settling tank. Purification takes place on a percolating (trickling) filter bed containing, HUFO media specially designed in terms of active surface and permeability. The pump system distributes the settled sewage over the top layer of the media fill, through which the liquid flows down by gravity, while oxygenating naturally through constant contact with air. The media is located in an insulated biofilter shell above the level of flowing sewage. In this way, the microorganisms growing on the surface of the Hufo media, even in the absence of spraying, caused for example by a power outage, will not die, as they will be constantly oxygenated.
BIOCLERE® wastewater treatment plants are a cost effective treatment solution. Low installation and operating costs, as well as complete odor neutrality and resistance to temperature changes, speak in favor of the use of this solution. After treatment, the treated effluent is discharged into open water courses, existing water reservoirs, soil or sewage system. Using the technology of the biological trickling filter bed, parameters that meet high environmental protection standards are obtained. The BIOCLERE® system was one of the first and so far the few that obtained the European Technical Assessment authorizing it to be used throughout the European Union as a proven and certified solution for small wastewater treatment plants.
