SCRUDRAIN® sludge thickener is a drum thickener. This model has been developed and is manufactured by the Teknofanghi
company from Milan. This modern and economical machine is primarily used in sewage treatment plants. The product is
intended mainly for sludge thickening before it passes to the aerobic or fermentation stabilization stage. The use of a
thickener, makes it possible to reduce the capacity of the stabilization stage, which translates directly into cost
reduction and an increase in the efficiency of the sludge stabilization process itself. It is also possible to install
the SCRUDRAIN® device in front of a belt press, screw press or decanter centrifuge. This solution is recommended when we
want to increase the concentration of dry matter before the sludge is finally dewatered. Increasingly, this product is
also used to replace gravity thickening. The SCRUDRAIN® drum thickener is also widely used in industry to remove excess
water from various types of sludge in wastewater pre-treatment processes.
In addition to drum thickeners, there are also other types, e.g. belt, decanter or flotation. However, such solutions
are associated with higher operating or investment costs. SCRUDRAIN® is the most economical option, which also has many
additional advantages. The SCRUDRAIN® uses an Archimedean screw, a type of lifting device used in ancient times. It is
permanently connected to the drum of the device, wrapped in a special filter mesh. Due to the fact that the filter mesh
(filter cloth) is not subjected to any mechanical stress, its durability is very long. The drum is driven by a motor
connected to a gearbox, which enables the optimization of rotation speed for the best sludge concentration. SCRUDRAIN®
is equipped with a control panel with a touch panel, enabling its automatic operation and full control by the user.
