Treatment of municipal or industrial wastewater is a very complex technological process during which sediments form and sludge is produced. Sludge dewatering is one of the integral stages of the entire cycle. For this purpose, various types of devices are used, the most popular of which is the belt press.
The MONOBELT® model, which we include in our company's catalog, traditionally enjoys the greatest trust of users. It was designed and manufactured by the Italian company Teknofanghi based in Milan, which specializes in the production of machines used in the sludge thickening and dewatering process. A popular item in the company's product range is the DRAIMAD® bag dewatering system, which is perfect for removing water from smaller amounts of sediment than those fed to the belt press.
The Monobelt® belt press is characterized by an uncomplicated design and functionality, which makes it the most popular model of a sludge dewatering press over the last three decades. This is mainly due to the user-friendly operation of the machine, as well as trouble-free and cheap maintenance of individual components. The big advantage is very low operating costs and relatively low energy consumption compared to traditional solutions. MONOBELT® is characterized by a lower purchase price compared to competitive presses for sludge dewatering. What's more, thanks to the relatively low weight of the structure, it does not require foundation. The press is equipped with a combined drum-type pre-thickener. This enables the dewatering of less concentrated sludges with a significant water content. The device uses a so-called endless filter belt without metal connectors. As a result, its durability is even four times greater than the types with connectors available on the market. The MONOBELT® filter belt can be washed with filtrate from the dewatered sludge. The dewatering process with the MONOBELT® press is very transparent. The pre-compacted sludge is fed to the belt (to the low pressure zone), where it is evenly distributed over its entire width. Then, under systematically increasing pressure in the wedge zone between the moving belt and the belt tightening on a perforated drum, it is dewatered. In order to prevent the sludge from squeezing out to the sides, the device is equipped with special covers. The next step is to introduce the sludge to the zone of maximum pressure, where it is subject to significant shear forces. Finally, the dehydrated cake is cut with a Teflon knife dropping into the screw conveyor for the dewatered sludge
The MONOBELT® device has an innovative belt washing system, which uses the fact that the filtrate from the sludge dewatering on this press is clean enough to be used as a washing liquid. The device also includes a practical control panel with a touch screen, which allows you to control not only the press itself, but also the components cooperating with it. Its operation is therefore very simple and intuitive.
