Achieving the best performance in liquid purification requires efficient disposal of microsuspensions, the particles of which are often less than 0.2 mm. Thanks to special methods based on coagulation and flocculation, i.e. precipitation and agglomeration of smaller particles, efficient sieves and filters can cope with them. One of them is an innovative device using microfiltration - SCRUFILTER®, with a filter fabric clearance from 20 to 200 microns.
The wastewater discharged from each treatment plant must meet strict standards for the presence of individual substances and suspensions. Sometimes the whole process of mechanical and biological treatment is not sufficient and micro-suspensions appear on the outflow, which no longer settle and are not amenable to chemical treatment. In some circumstances, in industrial processes, high purity of technological water is required in order to ensure trouble-free operation of the equipment that uses this water, more and more often in closed circuits. This allows the same water to be reused or perhaps multiple times, which directly leads to significant cost reductions. Everywhere there is the place for microfiltration and SCRUFILTER® microfilers. Thanks to the microfilters, the water reaches parameters that allow it to be returned to the technological process without fear of the negative impact of microsuspension on the installation. Thanks to microfiltration, along with the reduction of suspended solids in wastewater, the concentration of COD, BOD5, phosphorus and other indicators is dramatically reduced.

The SCRUFILTER® device has a simple design. Inside the stainless steel housing there is a rotating drum wrapped in a filter mesh made of polyester or stainless steel with a mesh diameter of 20 to 200 microns. Water with microsuspension enters the drum internally and is discharged through the mesh to the outside. The impurities remain inside, where a spiral scraper waits for them, evacuating the micro-suspension to the pump pocket, which discharges it into the container. The micro-mesh is flushed from the outside with water from the high-pressure nozzles, cleaning and maintaining its continuous flow capacity.
Separation with the use of SCRUFILTER® devices is mainly used in wastewater treatment and in industrial technological processes - wherever clean water of better quality than biological treated wastewater is required. The advantage of microfiltration is high efficiency, reliability and simple assembly of the device. The filter panels in the microfilters have a modular structure, which allows for their quick replacement without the need to disassemble the housing. The device has a built-in emergency overflow, hence the guarantee of high operational safety. Microfiltration effluents can be used to rinse drum screens, sand washers, belt presses and the microfilters themselves.
