The CANDLECARB system is a type of carbon filter known as a candle filter. Active carbon placed between concentric columns called candles is responsible for the process of reducing odor-producing compounds. The series of candle filters is characterized by high efficiency, thanks to a large filtration area with a small size of the device itself. Candle filter capacities are available in the range from 500 to 30,000 m3 / h.
Gas filtration in the CANDLECARB system takes place through the flow of air from the outside to the inside of the candles, which significantly increases the contact surface of the gas with the sorbent compared to standard carbon filters. Increasing the surface area with a smaller bed thickness in the gas flow path reduces the bed resistance, and thus allows the use of smaller capacity fans forcing the gas through the filter.
Due to its high efficiency, the CANDLECARB candle filter is recommended in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in the food industry. It can be used both by smaller plants and large companies, as well as in the municipal sector. These compact devices containing activated carbon eliminate odor generating gases such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, mercaptans and others. These filters also work well in the environment of sewage treatment plants, at sewage pumping stations or in waste sorting plants, where they can be used to filter the air from both technological tanks and buildings. The main advantage of candle filters in relation to standard filters is much lower electricity consumption due to the many times lower flow resistance through the bed placed in special cartridges called candles. They also enable the regeneration of used candles without the need to remove the carbon itself, which greatly simplifies the operation.
