Photocatalytic oxidation

 

PHOTOWENT® - Photocatalytic oxidation

 
Odour neutralization in the PHOTOWENT® system is based on the technology of photocatalytic oxidation of gas substances with ozone produced by UV lamps. Oxidation occurs on the surface of a catalytic actived carbon.
 
Deodorization in the CARBOWENT® system significantly decreases the negative impact on the environment from odour emissions. The CARBOWENT® range of units is utilized in industrial and municipal applications. Typical application are the sites with very high concentration of odour pollutants and with high irregularity of  occurrence, such as wastewater treatment plants and receiving stations (in particular, inlet works) expansion chambers in pressure pumping systems, food industry or waste handling stations. 

 

Structure

Polluted air passes through the UV lamps chamber, where it mixes with ozone present in the required concentration. Mixed gases are pushed then by a fan through the catalyst chamber. Design parameters include optimal contact time for reaction to be completed. This guarantees high ecological effectiveness and ensures that no excess ozone is released into  the environment.

All parameters of the air treatment are controlled automatically. Remote monitoring and process control can be provided with the  MONITEL® monitoring system. MONITEL® enables the selected process parameters to be controlled by internet  and can include, odour gas concentration at the inlet and outlet as well as ozone concentration levels.

Routine maintenance is limited to washing UV lamps occasionally and changing (or purifying and recycling) the catalytic carbon. UV lamps will require replacement at long term intervals.
